《忠犬八公的故事》改編自1935年發(fā)生在日本的真實(shí)故事，1987年拍成日本電影，由仲代達(dá)矢主演，該片當(dāng)年曾在日本引起轟動(dòng)。2009年12月，該片的美國(guó)版本上映，由導(dǎo)演萊塞·霍爾斯道姆執(zhí)導(dǎo)。 電影的'原型為1924年秋田犬八公被它的主人上野秀三郎帶到東京。每天早上，八公都在家門(mén)口目送著上野秀三郎出門(mén)上班，然后傍晚時(shí)分便到附近的澀谷火車(chē)站迎接他下班回家。一天晚上，上野秀三郎并沒(méi)有如常般回到家中，他在大學(xué)里突然中風(fēng)，搶救無(wú)效死了，再也沒(méi)有回到那個(gè)火車(chē)站，可是八公依然忠實(shí)地等著他。
