　　【冰箱里的儲(chǔ)蓄罐】

　　My cousin always "borrows" money from her older brother's piggy bank, which drives him crazy.

　　我表妹總是從她哥哥的小豬撲滿里“借錢”，她哥哥對(duì)此事感到很憤怒。

　　One day, she found the piggy in, of all places, the refrigerator.

　　一天，表妹四處尋找，最后竟然在冰箱里發(fā)現(xiàn)了撲滿。

　　Inside was this note: "Dear sister, I hope you'll understand, but my capital has been frozen."

　　撲滿里有張紙條：“親愛(ài)的妹妹，我希望你能夠理解，我的資產(chǎn)現(xiàn)在已被凍結(jié)。”

　　【注釋】

　　1. piggy bank (豬形)儲(chǔ)蓄罐，(豬形)撲滿，也可以叫做money box或者penny bank。過(guò)去的piggy bank大多是小豬形狀，而現(xiàn)在則是多種多樣的啦。

　　2. drive sb. crazy 使某人發(fā)瘋，把某人逼瘋。另外drive sb. mad和drive sb. nuts也是同樣的意思，例如：Traffic jams drive me nuts.(交通堵塞使我發(fā)瘋。)

　　3. of all places/things/people 主要用于口語(yǔ)中，表達(dá)對(duì)于某件事竟會(huì)涉及到某地/某物/某人的驚訝之情。例如：And now she's chosen to live in Alaska, of all places!(而現(xiàn)在她竟然選擇定居在阿拉斯加!)

　　【最丑的孩子】

　　A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The driver says: "Ugh, that's the ugliest baby I've ever seen."

　　一位女士抱著她的寶寶上公交車，司機(jī)看到后說(shuō)：“額，那是我這輩子見(jiàn)過(guò)的最丑的小孩。”

　　The woman walks to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: "The driver just insulted me." The man says: "You go up there and tell him off. Go on, I'll hold your monkey for you."

　　女士走到車廂后面坐下，感到很憤怒。她對(duì)旁邊的男士說(shuō)：“司機(jī)剛剛羞辱了我。”男士回應(yīng)說(shuō)：“你快上去斥責(zé)他。去吧，我替你抱著你的猴子。”

　　1. fume - to be angry about something 發(fā)怒，生氣

　　常用介詞搭配：fume at/over/about

　　例如：fume about what he said 對(duì)他所說(shuō)的話感到生氣

　　2. tell somebody off 斥責(zé)，責(zé)罵

　　tell somebody off for doing something 因?yàn)槟橙俗瞿呈露��?zé)罵他/她

　　例如：The boss is always telling me off for being late, even though he is late every day! 我的老板總拿遲到的事斥責(zé)我，即便他自己天天遲到!
